A pair of Georgian reverse glass prints depicting Autumn and Winter as Georgian women. Autumn is depicted wearing a pretty lace bonet and holding a basket of fruit with apple picking in an orchard behind. Winter is portrayed in a cloak with a furr muff and ice skating in the background.

James McArdell (c.1729-1765) was born in Dublin and was among a group of talented engravers who emigrated to London in the mid Eighteenth Century. His skills were highly sought after and he produced many beautiful portraits after the work of Sir Joshua Reynolds.
