William and Mary Period c. 1688-1702
The ascendance of William and Mary to the British throne brought with it a Royal Court heavily influenced by Dutch craftsmen and designers such as Daniel Marot. The furniture of the period is baroque in feel with beautifully carved giltwood furniture and walnut pieces inlaid with elaborate floral marquetry.
