George II fruitwood envelope table
A rare George II period fruitwood envelope table: the beautifully figured triangular top with a flap that opens to make a square, above an arched frieze and raised on club legs terminating in pad feet. Retaining a wonderful untouched colour and patination.
Georgian envelope tables are very unusual and examples in fruitwood are extremely rare. The table is one most interesting pieces of vernacular furniture I have discovered.
