Irish George II Painted Mirror In The Kentian Style
A rare Irish George II mirror in the Kentian style; the mirror plate set within a carved and painted frame which is surmounted by a swan neck pediment above an entablature carved with a swag of flowers. The mirror's apron is carved with a central scallop shell.
This early Georgian mirror is decorated with the architectural Palladian vocabulary associated with the work of William Kent. This mirror in superb condition and unusually retains its original painted decoration.
