A 19th Century Oak Stool

This item is sold

An early 19th Century carved oak window seat; the upholstered seat above an oak show-wood seat rail and raised on tapering legs which are crisply carved with rosettes, anthemions and lotus leaves.

The design of this window seat is clearly influenced by Charles Heathcote Tatham's Etchings of Ancient Ornamental Architecture (1800).
