Seventeenth Century Carved Oak Wainscot Armchair
A profusely carved late Seventeenth Century oak wainscot armchair. The armchair's scrolling foliate leaf cresting rail above a central panel carved with flowing foliage and flanked by uprights carved with palmettes; having downswept arms and a boarded seat with a carved seat rail and raised on turned legs to the front which are united by a turned stretcher. The design of this wainscot armchair is typical of the Leeds area in Yorkshire.
