An exceptional George III Chippendale period mahogany box commode; the lift-up lid veneered in flame mahogany opening to reveal a cupboard above false drawers line inlaid with boxwood and retaining their original axe head handles; having carrying handles to the side and raised on fluted square tapering legs which terminate in fluted spade feet. This box commode is veneered through out in beautifully figured Cuban mahogany and retains a superb colour and patination.
