Georgian Chippendale Mahogany Tripod Table
An elegant George III Chippendale period mahogany tripod table; the table's well figured tilt-top above a fluted stem with a wrythen turned vase and raised on beautifully drawn legs carved with C scrolls and terminating in French scroll toe. This tripod table retains a beautiful faded colour and patination.
The elegant French scroll toe found on this tripod table can also be seen on the furniture that Thomas Chippendale supplied to Dumfries House, Scotland. Dumfries House is one of Chippendale's earliest and best documented commissions and I would highly recommend a visit if you are in Southern Scotland.
