A Beautifully Patinated Mid 18th Century Oak Dresser Base
Having four short and three long graduated drawers and two fielded panelled cupboards which are all mahogany crossbanded and retain their original swan neck handles; having fielded panelled ends and with yewwood quarter columns inset into the corners; raised on bracket feet.
This dresser is a paritularly good example and was probably made by a cabinet-maker who was used to working with mahogany. This superior quality can be seen in the mahogany crossbanding to the drawers and the fielded panels. This dresser has also survived in unusually good condition, it retains its original handles and it has acquired a beautiful patina.
