Nineteenth Century elm bellows by Alldays and Onions
A good pair of Nineteenth Century elm and leather belows by Alldays and Onions; the elm handles retain a warm honey colour and the leather bag retains its original brass studding. One tiny hole to the leather but in good working order.
Alldays and Onions were formed by the merger of the long established Onions (they had been making bellows since 1650 in the shadow of Dudley Castle) with the engineering firm of William Allday and Co who had been founded more recently, 1720! The firm wereknown for their engineering and blacksmithing equipment but expanded into bicycles and early motor cars; producing the Travell in 1898.
