Pair of Nineteenth Century Decalcomania glass table lamps

£1,800

A charming pair of Nineteenth Century decalcomania glass table lamps; decorated with chinoiserie figures, butterflies and birds.  The shades are sold separately and are priced at £560.

Converted into a table lamp from a vase. This can easily be reversed if desired.

This lamp is wired and tested for UK current. It can easily be converted to U.S or European current.

Decalcomania is a transfer printing technique developed during the Eighteenth Century. The interior of the vase would be covered in wet paint and a design on paper is then pressed against the wet surface. When the paper was removed an image was left behind- transfer printed. This design was then decorated by hand.
