A charming Georgian reverse glass print depicting a Georgian gentleman and two ladies.
Inscribed with a poem: When vernal Zephyrs and Flora reign, The Nymph with Smiles receives her amorous swain, Who culls for her each Sweet and Flowret gay, As grateful Tribute to the Queen of May.
T. Simon Fecit and published by T. Burford 1758.
Thomas Burford (1710-c.1779) was a printmaker and seller working in the manner of Sartorius and James Seymour. He is listed at The Golden Head in Chapel Street, Westminster.
