Chandeliers
Chandeliers are one of the most eye catching pieces in an interior and their grandeur evolved greatly throughout history. Early chandeliers of the Middle Ages were often simple iron rings or cross-shaped wooden planks with candleholders. In the 17th century they became more similar to the tiered chandeliers we know today, and they were being made in a wider range of materials such as carved wood, brass or silver. By the 18th century, chandeliers could be found in glass or rock crystal, making the some of the most luxurious pieces to have in the home, as they continue to be even still.
