Sir Richard Sykes, former chairman of Glaxo Smithkline, has led a rescue of Partridge Fine Arts.

Partridge was one of the most exclusive antiques dealers in the world and supplied pieces to Queen Mary, the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Perhaps Partridge's rescue will finally see it restored to its former glory but in the meantime the shop on Bond Street lies vacant with a To Let sign in the front window. The antiques trade will be watching future developments with interest.
