Candlesticks and Candelabra
Antique candlesticks can be found in many styles, and range from simple candleholders to elaborate decorative pieces. Before the 17th century, candlesticks were typically made from pewter or copper, but silver and gold candlesticks became more popular after the Restoration with influences from the Continent. In the 18th century, candlesticks followed the design trends of the Rococo and Neoclassical styles and were made by the leading metalworkers of the time. Alongside candlesticks, candelabra also became popular as showy display pieces that were symbols of status and luxury.
