This month we are pleased to highlight some beautiful pieces of carved Chippendale furniture. Thomas Chippendale is undoubtedly the most famous English cabinet-maker and designer of the Eighteenth Century and carved pieces from his era represent some of the finest examples of English furniture.

The carved Chippendale period cabinet illustrated below is unusual for the extent of its carved decortion and is of the finest quality with Cuban curl veneers and cedar drawer linings.

Although it is probably of French origin the corner bracket is of mid Eighteenth Century date and is superbly carved.
